Vi Phu is a Principal and Actuary for the Mercer Health and Benefits Consulting practice in Houston, Texas.  Vi has over 20 years of experience in the design, strategy, delivery system, pricing, and vendor management for Health and Welfare benefits.

Vi’s consulting experience includes benefit strategies for large companies in the Energy, Hospital, and Transportation industries.  She also provides consulting services during labor negotiations and M&A situations including harmonization of benefit plans for active, retiree, domestic, and international plans.

Vi has extensive experience providing actuarial support for active and retiree health and benefit plan design, pricing, medical utilization data analysis, monthly/quarterly group benefits reportings, IBNR calculations, and vendor negotiations/biddings.  Vi also provides FAS106, FAS112, and Medicare Part D attestation support for her clients.  Currently, Vi spends a significant amount of time analyzing Health Care Reform and its strategic and financial impact to organizations.

Vi received her Master of Science in Statistics and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin.  Vi is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.  She is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Dr. Aga has been practicing at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic since 1997. He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Chemistry and received his medical degree as well as completed his residency at University of Texas Science Center at Houston. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Aga has been recognized with a prestigious national certification for excellence in caring for diabetic patients, awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).  Certification through NCQA’s national Diabetes Recognition Program comes after a comprehensive, individualized review process to verify a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes.  In addition, Dr. Aga has been recognized for providing outstanding cardiovascular and stroke care by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) Heart/Stroke Recognition Program.  Recognition through the Heart/Stroke Recognition program is achieved as the result of a comprehensive, individualized review process that verifies a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients with cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke.
