Objective

To provide information on current compensation and benefits practices, educational opportunities, and service and networking opportunities to all practitioners of the compensation and benefits profession in the Houston area.

HCA History

    1982 - Elected first president

    1985 - Aflliated with the American Compensation and Benefits (World at Work)

Membership Benefits:

  • Bimonthly meetings (generally luncheons) at a Houston area hotel. Programs often include mini seminars or workshops on a variety of compensation-related topics. Prior programs have covered: rewarding excellence, pay strategies for the new economy, trends in executive compensation, reengineering human resources, Fair Labor Standards Acts practices, international compensation issues, and variable compensation incentive plans.
  • Professional development opportunities including various workshops and seminars, and HCA-sponsored WorldatWork certification courses to promote the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designations.
  • Website at www.houstoncandb.org providing programming information, job listings, news about other chapter events and links to other resources
  • Houston Compensation Salary Survey (offered to members at discounted  rates) and the Houston Compensation and Benefits Salary Budget Survey.
HC&B is continually reviewing and refining  its focus to promote the professional excellence of the compensation and benefits practitioner.

Membership Demographics

    300+ members from approximately 200 companies representing a large cross-section of industries such as energy, financial, manufacturing, medical, engineering, service and utilities.

Membership Fees

Annual dues are $95.00, offered on an individual basis only.
