Crossing the Divide- How Compensation and Benefit Professionals can Better Partner with HR
Partnering with HR and the business is critical to being successful in compensation & benefits, whether you are just starting out in your career or are a seasoned leader. In this panel discussion, we’ll hear from leaders in compensation & benefits and HR how these two separate yet connected functions can best partner to drive overall success of the business. We’ll hear how to overcome organizational roadblocks and challenges to drive successful changes, and how to partner strategically to earn the business’s trust in all HR functions.
This discussion will benefit you no matter what level you are in your career, whether you are focused on compensation or benefits. Our panel consists of top leaders in both HR and total rewards to provide a broad perspective on the importance of and ways to forge a strategic partnership.
CHRISTINE R. CERNOCH
Director, Human Resources

Christine Cernoch has worked in the HR field for the past 22 years. She is currently Director of Human Resources Operations for The Friedkin Group, Inc. and has responsibilities leading HR technology, employee relations and business partnering. Whether it’s leading a major system implementation, facilitating discussions between two disagreeing parties or being an agent of change, Christine approaches leadership in her role with integrity, courage, humility and collaboration. Prior to joining The Friedkin Group in 2006, Christine worked at Sysco Corporation for 9 years in a variety of roles in training and development and talent acquisition. Christine is a graduate from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s degree in Management.
Vice President of Rewards and Spaces
Lynn Moffett is the Vice President of Rewards and Spaces with BMC Software, Inc., a global leader in innovative software solutions, and has responsibility over Global Rewards, Payroll, HRIS, HR Data Analytics and Real Estate and Facilities. She originally joined BMC in April 2011 as the Director of Benefits, subsequently progressing to Senior Director of Compensation and Benefits and Area Vice President, before being promoted to Vice President in April 2015. Prior to BMC Software, she worked in compensation and benefits from May 2007 through March 2011 as an HR Advisor for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Lynn served as the Director of Human Resources with Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. prior to joining Anadarko.
Lynn holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University Of New Orleans in New Orleans, LA and is a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), and Global Remuneration Professional (GRP).
Vice President of Human Resources
Nisha Rai is Vice President of Human Resources at MRC Global. MRC Global is a leading distributor of pipe, valves & fittings to the energy industry; and employs around 3,500 employees in 20 countries. Nisha has global responsibility for all areas of human resources including employee relations, recruiting, compensation and benefits, talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee training and development and performance management. Previously, she served as Sr. Director, Human Resources, as well as Director, Compensation and Benefits for MRC Global. Prior to joining MRC Global, Nisha worked in various human resources and total rewards leadership roles with Boardwalk Pipeline Partners LP and LyondellBasell Industries; and as a Senior Human Resources Consultant with EY’s Human Capital Practice.
Ms. Rai received her Master’s in Health Administration from the Ohio State University, and a Master’s of Science and a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Mumbai. She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from HCRI and a Certified Compensation Professional designation from World at Work.
Sr. Manager and Total Rewards
DW Mann is Sr. Manager, Total Rewards at MRC Global. He is responsible for the design and administration of executive and broad-based compensation, benefits, global mobility, HRIS and analytics for 3,500 employees in 20 countries. He brings 10 years of experience in total rewards.
Before joining MRC Global, DW held various roles in total rewards at ConocoPhillips and Pacific Drilling, and began his career in benefits consulting at Willis Towers Watson. He holds a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from Florida State University and the SHRM-SCP certification.
