Carol currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Germania Insurance, one of the top mutual insurance companies in the state of Texas. She joined Germania Insurance in October 2016 as the Director. In February 2017 she transitioned to Associate Vice President. In March 2017, she was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.
She is an active member the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans (IFEBP), HR Houston, Houston Compensation & Benefits (HC&B), and the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). She is also the past Committee Chair of Ascende Charitable Trust (ACT) and has since Chaired Customer Experience organizational intiatives at Germania. Carol McBride is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Carol McBride Group, LLC (CMG) and the author of HR, Where’s Your Freaking Sense of Humor? She is also sponsored her own HR Consortium to share knowledge and experiences with the HR community. She invited as a human resources subject matter and motivational public speaker in the Houston and the surrounding area.
The Group Prism, LLC
Renu Sachdeva is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant, speaker, facilitator, and Leadership Coach. She is a co-founder of The Group Prism LLC, a company dedicated to providing customized solutions to organizations to help them embed DEI principles in their organizational culture and systems. As a leader in DEI, Renu has facilitated numerous workshops on topics such as intersectionality, unconscious bias, and inclusive leadership and belonging. She has also worked closely with Human Capital practitioners in developing and implementing DEI strategy and provided inclusive leadership coaching to leaders at all levels. Renu worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) for 17 years as a Forensic Technology consultant, Human Capital specialist, and Market Diversity and Inclusion Leader. Her unique background allows her to bring data-driven and people-oriented solutions to her clients.
Renu earned her BBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002 and MBA from the University of Houston in 2015. She holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credentials.
Alveda (AJ) Williams
Alveda Williams is Corporate Director of the Office of Inclusion and HR Director for Talent at Dow. In her role, she is responsible for driving and implementing the Company’s global inclusion strategy and institutionalizing inclusion into the overall employee experience. Her role expanded in June 2019 to include leadership of Dow’s Global Center of Expertise for Talent Acquisition and Talent Pipelines. Alveda joined Dow in Midland, MI in 2002 and began her career in Research and Development. She relocated to Freeport, TX and worked in Core R&D as an individual contributor and later as a people leader before transitioning to Human Resources.
Alveda earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Norfolk State University (Norfolk, VA) in 1997 and Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, IL) in 2002.
Berry, Appleman and Leiden, LLC
Ashley Kobelan is the Compensation Manager at Berry Appleman & Leiden, a global firm singularly focused on meeting the immigration challenges of corporate clients around the world in ways that make immigration more strategic and clients more successful. In her role, she manages all aspects of Compensation for over 1,000 employees. Ashley has held various roles in accounting, finance and human resources over the past 11 years, with her last 5 years focusing in Compensation.
Ashley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Texas State University.
