He spent 24 years in the Oil & Gas industry holding a variety of regional & global positions with companies such as Pennzoil, Intertek, Dresser, GE Oil & Gas, TechnipFMC and most recently as VP of Human Resources for NexTier Completion Solutions.
Chuck has a passion for HR especially in the fields of employee engagement, talent pipeline, organizational design and development. He has extensive experience leading HR organizations through crisis management events such as 9/11 and Hurricane Harvey.

Wendy Carmichael joined USI Southwest’s Houston office in January 2006 as our in-house ERISA Counsel, focused on helping our department and our clients stay compliant with requirements of various benefits laws. We are fortunate to have Wendy on the USI team as a differentiating factor in our consulting services.
Before joining USI, Wendy was in private practice at Courtney & Associates, P.C. She has practiced exclusively in employee benefits law since 1999. Wendy is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association.
In her current position, Wendy monitors changes in benefits laws (health care reform, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.), provides assistance to clients with respect to specific legal questions (discrimination, privacy, etc.), conducts seminars to distribute legislative requirements, and writes weekly updates covering new developments and general issues regarding health and welfare plans, among many other things.
Wendy earned her BA from Vanderbilt University and her JD from the University of Oregon School of Law.

Brennan brings an expertise in all areas of executive, independent director, and broad-based compensation consulting. Some of the areas in which he has significant experience include compensation benchmarking, designing and implementing both short- and long-term incentive plans, and creating salary structures. Brennan is also a subject matter expert in all areas of equity plan administration, including systems, implementation, accounting, reporting, and tax. Additionally, Mr. Rittenhouse has worked closely with Internal Revenue Code Section 409A, consulted on various aspects of 401(k) plans, and performed compliance reviews of both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, and health and welfare plans.
Prior to joining A&M, Brennan was a Managing Director with Compensation & Benefit Solutions, a leading provider of compensation and benefit services based out of Denver. Previously, he served as the Head of Compensation for Vista Outdoor, a public company outside of Salt Lake City, UT, and also worked in the federal tax group at the accounting firm Grant Thornton, LP.
Brennan earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida, his law degree from Florida State University College of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver.
